About PIBA: Building a Healthier Future for Black Communities

Grounded in intersectionality and driven by community, PIBA is re-imagining HIV prevention through education, advocacy, and systemic change.

History

How It All Began

PIBA was founded in 2022 during a pivotal moment in HIV prevention advocacy. What began as a single summit in Atlanta to commemorate the 10th anniversary of PrEP's FDA approval has grown into a national movement. Today, we bring together advocates, researchers, and community members to re-imagine how HIV prevention serves Black communities.

To empower Black communities to reclaim control over their sexual and
reproductive health narratives and create equitable HIV prevention strategies.
